Safari Joe by DanNortonArt Safari Joe by DanNortonArt
In the very beginning of development we had discussions about how humans played a role in our version. Though we didn't get to establish how things played out. I did do a version of Safari Joe in the initial pass. It's rough, but you can see where I was going. Some day I'll tell what was going to happen...

Safari Joe! Very obscure thundercat villain, nice sketch

Out of curiosity, were there ever any plans to bring the Lunatacs into the 2011 series? If not, it would still be cool to see redesigned versions of them in your style :3

ah man, had he shown up and said "Safari Joe does it again!" at least once, I would've had a good laugh like when Tigra referenced that infamous outtake recording saying "what's a samoflange?"

Well, we had two thoughts on that... If we didn't get a pick up, we didn't cross the human line but got some of the spirit of Safari Joe out of the Conquedor. If we got to continue, he may make an appearance or we take the Conquedor's mask off and Ta- Daaaahhh. Oh, did I just say that...

I was wondering about this guy! Always though he was one of Lion-O's greatest challenges (Guns & Swords you know).

I know, I enjoyed it, and trust me, there's not much CN puts out nowadays that I like.

Tch, CN has lost what little integrity it had, all the cartoon channels are now going to that moronic sitcom-live-action crap that's just regurgitated slop of supposedly popular reality TV (Just Kidding is 'JackAss' for kids and we all know it.) What little creativity is left has been effectively had it's neck sliced by CEOs looking for a cheaper way to produce crap tv and pocket more. The only decent return of any live actions are on Nick, Figure it Out, a revamp of the old gameshow.

Sadly most now are of the age that they have seen their first cycle. Hasbro is on the leading edge of the cycle with MLP, Transformers, Hero Squad, Pound puppies, so on and so forth (with Disney right behind, run from the princess attack!). What gets me is, that while I feel old seeing the cycle (and still a kid because I watch all these cartoons XD), why hasn't ANY of the decent shows of the 80s and 90s fully returned? Heck, even the early 2000's had some good programming. But now they're forced into other channels that many can't reach, such as Boomerang (one of my fave channels)and Nicktoons (Mostly older Nick cartoons like Hey Arnold, Teenage Robot, Danny Phantom, All That, and the older Spongebobs).

What makes me want to vomit is the fact that there are a ton of good, fresh cartoon ideas out there, even good remakes, but instead we keep getting this hacked up hog-snot for programming. And what few decent ones get through to the cracks and get produced? Usually are sliced right through and never given the light of day again (Thundercats/LoKorra/ect.) leaving most fans to hang in some quasi-what if world. But what's WORSE is what SUCCEEDS instead! (*cough*LEVEL-UP!*coughcough*) I weep for the horrible video gamer stereotypes (and the fact the only girl really isn't into video games at all, just with friends -_-) and moronic movement of that show, it's worse than the 5th generation of Power Rangers (shaaark jump).

What few gems are managing to exist in this mire of muck programming (Kung-fu Panda/TMNT/Dragon Riders of Berk/MLP/Adventure Time(it's an eh show, mostly good, just could do without some crap)/ect.) I worry what our kids will grow up on...or if they will even have any cartoons at the rate these crappy live-actions keep coming.

We need a HERO! * Karaokes horribly to that song*

Tell me about it! I'm really hoping CN and everyone else gets this through their thick skull. And I agree, Although I'm still devoted to Nick, they've made some HORRIBLE decisions lately. Like making that Last Airbender movie and letting M. Night Shamalama-ding-dong direct it, then not telling him to go back and fix it because they couldn't notice anything wrong cause their heads were shoved way to far up their asses, and recently, like last month, they showed it on their channel and had this big old hype for it, like they're TRYING to kill the fandom. If I were them, I would be insulted that this movie made a mockery of one of our greatest and most popular series that's made them a lot of money and gotten them a lot of views.

You remember the play in the original Airbender series that the kids all go to watch? Yeah, that's what that the live-action movie was like for me.

Still, like I said, most CEOs are looking for fast, cheap ways to produce so they can gain more profit, and with nothing else better to watch, children end up watching the live-action slop. What's worse is parents and adults ALSO have nothing better to watch so tend to go watch live-action slop just because it's freakin' hilarious to watch idiots. (3 words, Honey-boo-boo.)

I want my childhood back...*sigh* granted we didn't have near as many cool video games then, but still, is that where all the decent animation and storywriting is going now?

Don't forget that God awful Lego: Legends of Fucking Chima; that show was terrible! So too freaking juvenile.. And kids like it and it's still on the air, because of one thing; merchandising!

Probably, but if you think about it, video games are like tv and movies, some are really good, some 'meh', and some are just pure shit.
